Christmas Fayre

Our Christmas Fayre was held after school tonight and we had a fabulous attendance - thank you tp everyone who came and supported us in this.

Thanks to the parents who helped us run stalls, clear away and to every one who sent a cake, a tombola item and so on.

We also had an enormous of help from the children with setting up and a special mention needs to go to Leon Mapletoft for being my 'gofer'!

Wendy is busy counting the money raised and I will post on Monday to let you know!

Certificate winners this week

Our certificate winners this week were:

Alex Van-Tam (year 1).  He was awarded his certificate for getting all his spellings correct in autumn term 1.  A fabulous achievement Alex - you should be really proud of yourself!

Hollie Mae Robertson (year 2).  She was awarded her certificate for being a super right hand person to Mrs Sutcliffe.  All teacher' need super right hand people as it makes their job so much easier - thank you Hollie!

Elise Khoo (year 2 but working in Class 2 with years 3 and 4 and some other year 2s).  Elise got her certificate for producing a brilliant newspaper report which showed she had listened to the teaching and acted upon it.  You are a star Elise!

I will post a photo as soon as the system lets me!

Children In Need Day - Football practice!

A fabulous day was had by all of us!  Please see Mrs Chadwick's class 3 blog for full information.

Our year 5 and 6 boys have been practising hrd for their recent football tournament and just to show that we take it very seriously they even wanted to practise in their PJs!

I did make them take their slippers off and put their trainers on!

The football team - in their PJs!

Book Week 2

As part of book week we had a whole day visit from Blizzard the barn owl.  All classes worked with Blizzard - on writing poems using WOW words and excellent description!  Our English display outside my office has a selection of some of the super writing produced.  If you want to look - talk to Wendy!

Book Week

First of all - apologies for not posting for a while - I've got a new laptop and it's taken me some time to sort it out!

We had a super book week the week before we broke up for half term.  Our sale of books raised over £400 and gave us £160 of commission to spend on books for school - thanks for supporting us!

We had our usual dressing up day and house captain activities - it was great to see the children working in their house groups - 4 year olds through to 11 year olds all working together!

The dressing up theme was 'I am a reader and writer' and we had a brilliant range of costumes - see the photos below!

Whole school dressed up!

Mrs Clarke, Mrs Cowling and Mrs Ballaam

Mrs Kearsley - she won't thank me for this!  One child asked her who she was and she answered a vampire, no he replied - which member of staff are you?  Good disguise!
