Easter Basket competition

Our Easter competition this year was to design and a make an Easter basket with the winning entrants being chosen for their own work and (in the upper school) a reference to Jesus.  We had a fabulous amount of entries - most for several years!  It was hard to judge and I particularly didn't want to know who had made each basket so I could judge independently.  Winners received a chocolate rabbit and runners up got a creme egg.  Everyone who took part got a chocolate lolly.

Easter Service in church 22.3.2016

We didn't have much time to prepare a full Easter service because of the very short term so we decided to perform some music that we had been doing in classes along with Easter poems.  It was a lovely, happy service and thank you to the many parents who commented how good it was!

Class 3 - The Easter Tree - a really super story about a tree over the years in Jesus's life

Class 3 with their Hip Hop Samba - we all bopped along to this!

Class 2 - No more sighing, goodbye-ing or crying - a poem about Jesus's resurrection

Class 1 with their lovely Easter acrostic

Recorder group 3 - Edelweiss
Beautiful performance all of you!

Recorder group 2 - excellent!

Recorder group 3 - what skills you have!

More class 3 Hip Hop Samba - really enjoying themselves!

A special thanks to Darcy and Adam in Y6 - I gave them 40 minutes notice that they were presenting the whole service and they did brilliantly!

Big sports week this week!

There has a lot of of sporting events this week - please see Mrs Chadwick's Sports Blog for full information.

Our bronze sports ambassadors Casper and Joseph did a couple of excellent assemblies and presentations - one to our school and to Long Bennington school - please see my last blog for more information.

Casper and Joseph - they had just chosen our legacy country - Jamaica!

Receiving the legacy torch from Barkston.

Passing the legacy torch on to Long Bennington - their presentation was in front of 260 children and staff - very daunting but they did brilliantly!  I am so proud of you both - you are fabulous representatives of our school.

Such a lot to celebrate this week!

Our Y6 Bronze Sports Ambassadors, Casper and Joseph.  They have had two major presentations this week - one where the school received the legacy torch from Barkston school and the other where they had to deliver the legacy torch to Long Bennington school - a full assembly in front of 260 children and staff.  Very daunting but they did brilliantly!  Great experience for the future boys - we are very proud of you!

Class 2 took part in the annual Grantham Music Festival (non-competitive) and (despite several children not attending due to illness) we were congratulated by the adjudicator - especially our soloists.  We weren't allowed to take photos at the event but the children above are performing for the whole school - Brilliant!
