Whole School Sleepover

This took place last night.  We had 62 children sleeping overnight (out of 83 children in the school!).  Unfortunately we were too busy.to take photos.  We all had a great time and thank you to the children for being well behaved.

Thank you to the parents who helped me - I could not possibly do this without you.

Sports Day

For the first time for a while we haven't had to say will it happen or will we have to cancel it because of the rain!  We had beautiful weather for our sports day - if anything it was a bit too hot for the children but we made the best use of the shade we had.

We started with our Sports Ambassadors Isaac Carley, Amelia Peters and Sam Tattersall giving their pledge for the afternoon which relates to teamwork and trying our best.

The team captains had then to repeat the pledge on behalf of their teams.

Harry getting ready for the sack race!

Joseph trying his best in the bean bag race!

Our scorers - Mrs Padgett and Mrs Chesterton.  They were helped this year by Megan who has broken her wrist - she was a brilliant help!

We didn't have a parent's race this year because no-one came forward!
We held our usual toddlers race - for children who are coming to us in September.

We had an injury - Isaac in Y6 who recovered enough to come first in the Y6 boys race but then got worse afterwards.  Anthony's step dad carried him nearer the awards ceremony!

Relay House Winners

Team events winners and Sprint winners - Shakespeare - collected by House and Vice Captain Anthony and Kesri.

Sports Ambassadors saying thank you.  This includes Isaac with his ankle elevated!

We had a lovely afternoon!
Thanks to the children for behaving well and supporting their teams!
Thanks to Mr Jagger and Mr Robinson for marking out the field - loved the smiley face!!!
Finally - thanks to all the staff for helping but particularly Mrs Chadwick for organising it.

Certificate Winners

The Pythagoras maths group in Class 2 were awarded a certificate for their excellent level of independent work.  They don't make any fuss, they get straight on with their work and are excited by it!

Serena, Isabella, Amy and Vincent - excellent work guys!

Conor received his certificate for trying his very best in everything and achieving at a high level - getting ready for Year 5!  Brilliant Conor!

Ellen, Lily and Hollie from Y2 received their certificates for getting full marks in their term 4 spellings - fabulous girls!  Amelia got hers for brilliant inference and deduction answers in guided reading and Leon for being polite and well-mannered - he said thank you to Mrs Sutcliffe for her work during Term 4 assessments.

Our celebrations assembly overran (as it always does) because we were all having a good time!

Friday Celebrations

As part of our Friday celebrations assembly four Class 3 girls performed their music composition to the whole school.  We had to guess what the 'theme' was and we all got it right - ghostly!  The music was fabulous and gave the teachers a serious teacher tingle - something that happens when we are very proud of the children in our school and their achievements.  I almost cried!!!

Brass Ensemble visit from Quintabile

We were one of only 6 schools in Lincolnshire to be visited from Quintabile for a music concert.  They are based in London but one of members comes from Boston.  There were two trumpet players, a trombone player, a French horn player and a tuba player.  The whole school was entertained for almost an hour by a mixture of modern and familiar music.  The children had chance to conduct and ask questions.  A fabulous and very educational morning!

Feeling the vibrations from the trumpet!

Such a low sound from the tuba!

Whole school conducting session!
