Music Concert

We held our annual music concert in school on Friday and it was very well attended by parents.  We had children playing the piano, clarinet, violin, saxophone, guitar.,recorders and the keyboard.  Several children played more than one instrument!  We also had vocalists performing solo and one duet - a brilliant range of talent!  Class 3 set the ball rolling with their Samba performance and the whole of KS2 finished by singing One Love/People Get Ready - specially chosen by Mrs Kearsley so I wouldn't cry this year!!!  I am very proud of everyone who performed and thank you to all Key Stage 2 children for behaving excellently throughout the performance.  A massive thanks to Mrs Kearsley for her hard work in school in music.

Class 3 Samba

Intermediate recorder group who played 'On the cool side'

Daniel playing the saxophone - 'Puff the magic dragon'

Katie performing a beautiful solo of 'Second Star to the Right'

Advanced recorder group playing 'The Great Escape' and and 'The Fawlty Towers Theme'

Ben and Sam performing 'Let's Get Together' - the smash hit of the concert!!!

Final day!

Our Finding Fin river study had to be cancelled because of the potential of thunder and lightening so we took part in a CSI case study.

Our final evening entertainment was a camp fire which everyone enjoyed and all had a sore throat because we sang so much!
Picture of enjoyment!
More smiles!
Team Tech - our robot 'Bob'
Team Tech - our robot 'Bender'
Ready for Quad Bikes - the alien has landed!
Determination!!!
Does anyone remember Penelope Pitsop?

We all had a great week, got very wet and very dirty and very tired.  I have really enjoyed doing the blog and I hope you have enjoyed looking at it.  I will burn all the Kingswood pictures onto a disc for each of the children.

Kingswood canoeing

Team Talk!

On our way!
Paddling hard!

Kingswood - third day

Absolutely brilliant day today!  Weather was hot and sunny and perfect for raft building and canoeing on the reservoir.  Mr Atter came to visit us for the day and it was a good job he brought a spare set of clothes because the children pushed  him into the water - as well as Lauren!  We did fencing and archery and Leap of Faith and finished off our computer games in Mission Maker.  Mission Maker is a fabulous programme and the children have asked me to buy it for school as everyone enjoyed doing it.  We also get to bring their finished games back to school.

Raft Building - will it float and stay in one piece?
So far so good!
How many more can we fit on without it sinking?
Oh no!!!
Quick - get the bits before they float away!
Leap of Faith - you do have to have faith - thank goodness for the safety harness!

More photos to follow - please keep watching this space!!!!

Kingswood - general thoughts!

Why do some boys insist on sleeping in their socks?

Where are their rooms so smelly?

Why don't they like having showers?

Why can't anyone remember their water bottles and hats?  Even though we remind them 300 times a day?

More Kingswood photos from second day

Problem solving and it's just starting to rain!
Mrs M forgot her jacket!
Preparing for Zip Wire!
I'm a bit apprehensive but I'm going to have a go!
I did it!!!!
Our first ever successful high zip wire!
We are very proud of ourselves!

Tomorrow we are canoeing and raft building on the reservoir.  We are also doing the leap of faith - watch this space!

Kingswood - Second day

Another good day - weather fine with a bit of drizzle but nothing to stop us doing the activities.  We started our Finding Fin river study and will continue this on Thursday. We has an aeroball session, a mix of trampolining and basketball - hard work!  Every
one had a go at Jacob's ladder and then we did some problem solving which hinged around teamwork.  Final session was the Zipwire.  Everyone achieved something which was brilliant!

Children were tired last night and they all slept well and didn't wake until 7am!

Aeroball - it's much more difficult than it looks!

Jacob's Ladder - lots of encouragement needed!
And more Jacob's Ladder
