Archaeology Assembly

We have a big hole in our school grounds!  It started as just a few boys just digging and has led to whole school excitement and involvement in what they have found!

Just a selection of the discoveries...

And more...

The boys have found keys, bones, glass bottles, a full ink bottle, lots of pottery pieces, lots of bits of iron and an almost complete milk pail!

The original archaeologists - Matthew, Rory, Leon, Vincent, Thomas and Conor.
They delivered a whole school assembly about what they had done and found.  The assembly overran because they were so excited and everyone had lots of questions for them.

On Tuesday we have the Lincolnshire Community Archaeologist vising us to talk to the children and look at our finds.

Keeping digging boys and keep washing those hands!

Summer School Music Concert

Our summer school music concert took place on Friday and was the best attended ever by parents and grandparents!  We also had more children performing than before and with a wider range of instruments.

Everybody performed excellently and I was very impressed by the couple of children who asked if they could start again and one child who said she couldn't perform and then said she could - it takes a lot of courage to do this in fron of an audience.

Courage is one of our Values for Life and this demonstrates our learning about this Value!

Thank you Ben Jessop for performing 'Any Deam Will Do' - one of my favourite songs and you sang it almost as good as Lee Mead!

We had a drummer in school - Conor - who performed 'Road to Nowhere' - your streed cred has gone up 100% Conor!  Mrs Kearsley and me have already had several requests for music lessons on the drums and I have agreed to buy to drum kit for school.

The whole school sang Go The Distance (from the film Hercules) with the sole aim of making me cry - it almost worked!

Whole school performing - giving their all:))))))

School Fete

We had super weather for our school fete and the fabulous amount of £833 was raised - brilliant for a small school.

Andrew's shooting stall - very popular!
Sasha didn't shoot me even though he threatened to!

Tyler and his stall!

The Corston family enjoying their candy floss!

Ben J in the stocks - big fundraiser!

Isabella and Megan's stall - very happy girls!

Thank you everyone for your support - very much appreciated!

Whole School Sleepover

This took place last night.  We had 62 children sleeping overnight (out of 83 children in the school!).  Unfortunately we were too busy.to take photos.  We all had a great time and thank you to the children for being well behaved.

Thank you to the parents who helped me - I could not possibly do this without you.

Sports Day

For the first time for a while we haven't had to say will it happen or will we have to cancel it because of the rain!  We had beautiful weather for our sports day - if anything it was a bit too hot for the children but we made the best use of the shade we had.

We started with our Sports Ambassadors Isaac Carley, Amelia Peters and Sam Tattersall giving their pledge for the afternoon which relates to teamwork and trying our best.

The team captains had then to repeat the pledge on behalf of their teams.

Harry getting ready for the sack race!

Joseph trying his best in the bean bag race!

Our scorers - Mrs Padgett and Mrs Chesterton.  They were helped this year by Megan who has broken her wrist - she was a brilliant help!

We didn't have a parent's race this year because no-one came forward!
We held our usual toddlers race - for children who are coming to us in September.

We had an injury - Isaac in Y6 who recovered enough to come first in the Y6 boys race but then got worse afterwards.  Anthony's step dad carried him nearer the awards ceremony!

Relay House Winners

Team events winners and Sprint winners - Shakespeare - collected by House and Vice Captain Anthony and Kesri.

Sports Ambassadors saying thank you.  This includes Isaac with his ankle elevated!

We had a lovely afternoon!
Thanks to the children for behaving well and supporting their teams!
Thanks to Mr Jagger and Mr Robinson for marking out the field - loved the smiley face!!!
Finally - thanks to all the staff for helping but particularly Mrs Chadwick for organising it.
