Our School Pets

Meet Bubble and Squeak, our guinea pigs, our first ever pets in school!

The whole school voted to decide on their names. Those who want to, (the majority of the school!) are going to take turns to look after them, clean them out or just give them a cuddle.

Squeak

Thank you to Mrs. Knott for organising all of this, as well as a rota of families who are able to look after them at weekends and in the holidays.

World Book Day

We timed this to fit in with our Book Fair.  Parents spent over £400 on new books and the school spent another £200.  This means we have another £360 to spend on new books for the school - fabulous!!!

We asked children (and staff) to dress up as a book character.

Easter Egg competition

Every year we hold an Easter competition and the theme this year was Easter Eggs.  The emphasis is always on the children's own work and they are judged by someone who doesn't know whose work it was.  This year Keith Campbell our student in Y5 judged the competition.

Our winners: Maddie Y3, Eva YFS, Brooke Y1, Lucy Y2, Sophie Y6,
Jasper Y4 and Joseph Y5.

They all received a real Easter Egg for winning!

Mother's Day

Class 3 wrote a poem about their mums and what they mean to them.  Apparently it was heard said in church that 'they didn't write it, they got it from the internet', NOT TRUE!  The children worked together to write this and I thought I would share it with you again!

My Mum In A Million

I’m doing some baking
Making a mum
I think I shall start
With a pinch of fun

Ten out of ten that is you
You hug me when I’m feeling blue
You help us when we have a cough
It’s incredible the chocolate that you can scoff!

Mothers are the best in the world
With hearts as pure as gold
You share all your love with ones who need it
You melt all hearts that are cold

You are the light that brightens my day
The cure that takes the pain away
You are the source of the light in my eyes
You are the sun that shines in the skies

My mother is kind to everyone
To me she’s like a silky sun
She kisses me on the cheek and
Comforts me when my eyes leak

You are the soul that lives in my heart
The strongest force couldn’t keep us apart
You taste yummier than an apple tart
I love you from the bottom of my heart

Mum you are the sun shine when it starts to rain
I’m sorry when I drive you insane
Mum you are the smiles that I see
Mum you mean the world to me

You do the cooking, you do the cleaning
You're the leader of the house
Everyone listens to your advice
Even a tiny mouse

Mother you are everything to me
When you care you do it beautifully
Mum I will always cherish your love
You bring more peace than the purest dove

My mum in a million
You’re ever so smart
You really are a star in my heart
Mum I love you to the moon and back

There really is nothing that you lack
