FOMS raised enough money last year for a new school sports kit.  This photograph shows the children wearing it on their recent cross country event.  See Class 3 blog for more information about the event.

Year 6 writing

I just wanted to share with you some of the fabulous writing we are getting from the children in year 6.  Our focus is on using WOW words as well as ideas that stimulate the imagination (amongst many others!).  We will be holding a writing workshop for parents and children next term so watch this space!

Maddy Faulkner:
As the slow combine harvester devoured the vibrant, evil eyed sunflowers, the one in front tiptoed as fast as the hour hand of a clock knowing they wouldn'tlive on a yellow planet again!
Fortunately, the combine harvester broke down - unfortunately there was only one lonely sunflower left alone.  As the little sunflower knew he would live and die alone, the combine harvester laughed and cackled in the day light.

Amelia Peters:
Clothing the unpretentious, verdant field; vibrant yellow sunflowers started popping out of the ground.  Going as far as the eye could see, they stared at the sizzling summer sun.  Their perfect petals like a mane, their vein stained leaves like miniature hands.  Suddenly, they stopped growing...

Back to school

Everyone has returned safe and sound and because of the beautiful weather we have been able to play outside on the school field.  We used some of our Sainsburys vouchers (donated by parents) to buy 4 in a row.  The children are enjoying using the tokens as bracelets!

Our trim track continues to be popular!  More photos to follow!
